Record Label

Halfnote is a small, UK-based independent record label specialising in music styles from alternative rock to adult contemporary. We currently have a small roster of artists and intend to slowly grow the set of artists in the future. For the time being, we only distribute our music products in digital form online via the Halfnote website, the artist websites and through a range of the leading online music retailers in the world.

Halfnote is a member of the key independent music industry organisation in the UK. This includes the Association of Independent Music, the PPL and PRS.

The duo Kill Dorothy was formed by Lucia de Castro in 2004.

TheBizmo

Halfnote is working closely with TheBizmo, who provides us with the showcase and shopping facilities as well as distribution to the main retailers in the world. TheBizmo is a great service for independent bands, artists and labels, allowing them to showcase and sell their music online, including through the key social networks.

Music production

Halfnote itself produces the majority of the tracks and albums available from the Halfnote record label. This includes the complete food chain for a recording, including:

• Song- and lyrics writing
• Recording and mix
• Mastering
• Digital distribution
